The purpose of this department is to eliminate or reduce, as is practical, the county’s causes for losses. When these risks cannot be eliminated or reduced to acceptable levels, Risk Management secures insurance utilizing deductibles and self-insurance retentions to efficiently protect the taxpayer’s money.

   The goal of the Risk Manager is to minimize the losses to the county by assisting the County Attorney in providing fair and adequate defense for any claims against the county .
